Required Criteria

 

Reservoir T wants to maintain a certain quality standards for all creations being published on its site. For this reason, we have put together a list of pre-established criteria.  We ask that our talents acknowledge the following criteria and meet requirements.

General Criteria

The talent needs to have acquired all necessary publication rights for each creation he/she publishes on Reservoir T. Each time a talent publishes a creation he/she will be asked to confirm this affirmation. 

It is strictly prohibited to publish inappropriate or illegal material, such as content being explicitly sexual, pedophilia, racism, terrorism or any other content that is a violation of the human dignity.

We suggest you focus on quality rather than quantity! Your portfolio on Reservoir T is accessible to the general public! Therefore it is in your best interest to publish creations that best represent your true skills and work. 

At Reservoir T, we feel that success is rarely the result of one individual. We strongly encourage talents to publish a creation that promotes teamwork. This is what makes Reservoir T unique and different from all other sites where you build portfolios. It is mandatory to give credit (to the best of your knowledge) to everyone who worked on the creation. A company/association/school cannot take all credit for a creation. Every individuals who collaborated need to be named.

Examples of creations that should be published in your portfolio

- The latest music video you’ve worked on for a popular band
- Photos from a fashion shoot for a trendy magazine
- A short film that makes you proud
- Original website design created by you and your team
- A video game you created for a computer, a console or a mobile device

Examples of creations that should NOT be published in your portfolio

- Your family vacation in review
- A homemade video of your pet’s new trick
- Your last karaoke interpretation
- Photos of your New Year’s Eve party

Specific Criteria

FILM/VIDEO

Focus

The subject and image of your creation need to be in focus. If any scenes are not in focus, it needs to be done intentionally and without compromising the estheticism and quality of your creation.

Lighting

Lighting is one of the most important aspects of a film/video creations. Avoid all harsh shadows, direct lights, overexposition, underexposition and lens flares.  This being said, lighting effects done intentionally can be artistically interesting.

White Balance

White balance shows the camera what each colour should look like, by giving it a "true white" reference. If a correct white balance is achieved, theoretically all colors in the range will be correct. White balance needs to be done every time there is a change in the lighting.

Noise and Compression

Compression noise is identified by pixilation of the image. We ask that a professional quality standard be respected unless the process is done intentionally.

Frame

Video frame rate must match the video format.

Sound and Audio

The sound and audio quality needs to be professionally done.  All dialogues, voices, ambient sound and music need to be professionally mixed and perfectly synch.

PRINT 

All prints and images published on Reservoir T need to be clear and well defined.

Currently, we support JPEG, GIF and PNG file uploads. We recommend JPEG and PNG files for the highest quality. Images can be up to 2 MB.

The image that is being uploaded needs to be approximately 600 pixels wide or more (if bigger, the image will be resized to 600 pixels).

VIDEO GAME

We highly recommend uploading videos, photos, logos and any other images that best represent your creation. These images will need to comply with the requirements of the respective visual that will be posted. In general, the video game needs to be functional and operational.

MUSIC

Currently you can't upload any audio file on Reservoir T.  We only accept URL links videos from YouTube and Vimeo and also EMBED codes from websites that allows this function. Though, we strongly recommend that you upload an image, photo or your album cover to best represent your creation. You can also include an EMBED code that will give access to some of your audio clips.

These audio clips need to comply with the following:

- Recorded in studio or of similar quality
- No distortion
- Good synchronization
- Voice and instruments need to be balanced.

PHOTOGRAPHY 

Photographs that will be uploaded on this site need to be clear and well define, unless it is intentional and part of the creative process.

Currently, we support JPEG, GIF and PNG file uploads. We recommend JPEG and PNG files for the highest quality. Images can be up to 2 MB.

PERFORMING ARTS /EVENTS 

Reservoir T highly suggests talents to upload videos, photos, logos and images that best represent their performance or event. You can also include the URL code for a website or an EMBED code for any other videos that can be shown for the creation. These images will need to meet the requirements of the respective visual that will be posted.

WEB

We recommend uploading videos, photos, logos and images to show the website’s most interesting and representative web pages. Also include the URL code of your website. The images will need to meet the requirements of the respective visual that will be posted.

In general, all sections of the website need to be completed. We understand that some might be under construction, but the majority of pages and sections need to be operational. We also ask that the website respect all linguistic standards (proper spelling, syntax, grammar etc.)
